As per the new update, Whatsapp is bringing the old status update feature that was changed a month’s back by company. Below is the complete detailed information on this.
About Whatsapp and it’s founder
Before stepping in to the detailed conversation about the WhatsApp Text Status, here is a little overview on the WhatsApp founders and how they got this idea to build this app which is now very popular with its feature even though there are many similar apps in market.
WhatsApp, the app which is most popular app in the app stores now this was incorporated in 2009 by the two people Brian Acton and Jan Koum, these duo were the former employees of Yahoo!.
These people Koum and Acton left Yahoo! organisation in the month of September in the year 2007, they traveled to South America just to take a break from their routine work. In the mean while the major point here is they applied for jobs at the most popular social networking website company Facebook unfortunately they were rejected. For the rest of the following years Koum just depended on his $400,000 savings from Yahoo!.
In January 2009, Koum purchased an iPhone and realizing that the App Store would soon create an industry of apps, Koum started visiting his friend Alex Fishman in West San Jose where the three would discuss “… having statuses next to individual names of the people”, but in order to get it done they need an iPhone developer. Fishman found a Russian developer on RentACoder.com, Igor Solomennikov, and introduced him to Koum. Koum named the app “WhatsApp” to sound like “what’s up”.
However with hook or crook on February 24, 2009, he incorporated WhatsApp Inc. in California. Even though there are few problems they faced among them the most common issues is that early versions of WhatsApp often crashed or got stuck at a particular point, Koum felt like giving up and looking for a new job, upon which Acton encouraged him to wait for a “few more months”.
In June 2009, Apple launched push notifications, which is allowing users to be pinged when they were not using an app. Koum changed WhatsApp so that when a user’s status is changed, everyone in the user’s network would be notified. WhatsApp 2.0 was released with a messaging component and the number of active users suddenly increased to 250,000. Acton was still unemployed and managing another startup, and he decided to join the company. In October 2009, Acton persuaded five former friends in Yahoo! to invest $250,000 in seed funding, and Acton became a co-founder and was given a stake. He officially joined on November 1.
Let’s go check the latest update on releasing the WhatsApp Text Status in a couple of weeks.
WhatsApp Text Status Is Back To Android For Iphone Some More Time
Every aware of the latest features which were incorporated in the WhatsApp in the latest versions. After much negative feedback from users over the removal of the old Status feature, the giant messaging WhatsApp has decided to bring it back. The old WhatsApp Text Status feature was first seen in the ‘About’ section on Android beta, WhatsApp has officially confirmed on this that they are getting back the text status.
In the recent releases the Facebook-owned IM app shared the news with TechCrunch that the old Status feature will be revived. In fact, all WhatsApp users on Android is going to get the feature over the next week and iPhone users will get it soon as well.
Whatsapp statement on bringing the text status back
“We heard from our users that people missed the ability to set a persistent text-only update in their profile, so we’ve integrated this feature into the ‘About’ section in profile settings. Now, the update will appear next to profile names anytime you view contacts, such as when creating a new chat or looking at Group info. At the same time, we’re continuing to build on the new Status feature that gives people fun and engaging ways to share photos, videos and GIFs with their friends and family throughout their day,” the company issued a statement to the publication.
They have also confirmed that this WhatsApp Text Status feature will work just as the same way as it was seen on Android beta version 2.17.95. With this the users will be able to set a text WhatsApp Status in the ‘About’ section which will change only when you want it to.
Apart from updating the status your contact list will be able to see the Status message by opening your contact, when starting a new chat thread, or viewing group info.
WhatsApp Status stories feature will still be present in seperate tab
In any case, the new WhatsApp Status stories feature isn’t going anywhere and will remain a constant in a separate tab. You can add photos and videos that disappear in 24 hours, just like Snapchat. The tab also lists all the new updates from your contacts in the same format as you see on Snapchat. Unfortunately, there’s no way (yet) to disable this WhatsApp feature completely.
Along with the WhatsApp social networking giant Facebook also introduced a similar feature on its Messenger service, named ‘Messenger Day’. This feature also lets you post photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours, but it’s a little more invasive than WhatsApp as it changes a lot of the interface behaviour jarring people’s habitual patterns
