  4. gStick mouse.
  5. Mechanical mouse.
  6. BlueTrack mouse.
  7. Laser mouse

    1. WIRELESS MOUSE

It is the mouse that sends the signal to the computer without USB or cord. There is a receiver which is connected to the computer through a serial or USB port. It can also be used in a PC that has Bluetooth from the factory or via an adapter. Considered as best choice among types of mouse.

Wireless mouse are becoming extremely popular as they give computer users cordless accessibility to their mouse and computer.  The different models of wireless mouse available in the market are:- Logitech B175, Magideal 2.4G, Lenovo laser(0A36188), MX Anywhere 2s, M331 Silent Plus, Lenovo N100, etc.

  2.  Optical mouse

Introduced in the late 1990s, optical mouse superseded mechanical types of mouses because their sealed bottom surfaces have no mechanical parts to absorb dust and dirt. An Optical mouse uses a light source, Light Emitting Diode (LED), and a light detector, such as an array of photo-diodes to detect movement relative to a surface. They work by emitting light from an LED or laser, and a CMOS sensor detects the light reflectionas the mouse is moved. Optical mouse capture one thousand successive images or more per second. Depending on how fast the mouse is moving, each image will be offset from the previous one by a fraction of a pixel or as many as several pixels.

The benefits of optical mouse are:- There’s no way for dirt to get inside the mouse and tracking sensor. This mouse does not require mouse pads. Battery-powered wireless optical mouse flash the LED intermittently to save power, and only glow steadily when movement is detected.  These are most popular type of mouse.

The different models of optical mouse available in the market are:- Quantum QHM222, Terabyte Tb-mw 023, Intex SLS3, Dell MS111, etc.

  3.  Trackball Mouse

A Trackball mouse is a pointing device consisting of a ball held by a socket containing sensors. These sensors detects rotation of the ball about two axis. The user rolls the ball to position the on-screen pointer, using their thumb, fingers, or commonly the palm of the hand while using the fingertips to press the mouse buttons.

There are many benefits of this device over other mouses. This device does not require much space because it is stationary. We can place this device on any type of surface including our lap. The buttons are well placed in this device that makes it easy to use. The different models of Trackball mouse available in the market are:- Insasta portable finger handheld, 3D connexion 3DX-700028, Perixx 34 mm trackball, Sanwa supply pc trackball MA-TB39, etc.

  4.  gStick mouse

Gordon Alan Stewart of Anchorage, Alaska, conceived of gStick after trying to sign a contract online using a traditional mouse. These mouses are Wireless and pocket-sized. It looks like a pencil. gStick mouse is like a pencil. It can be used for web browsing, office work or whatever you do with your traditional mouse, with more comfort.

The gStick is roughly the size of a permanent marker and is compatible with Linux, Mac and Windows. It also features a scroll wheel that can be manipulated with a finger or thumb a button on either side of the wheel. It’s claimed that a single AAA battery will power the gStick for between three and five months.

  5. Mechanical mouse

A mechanical mouse is a computer mouse that contains a metal or rubber ball on its under side. When the ball is rolled in any direction, sensors inside the mouse detect this motion and move the on-screen mouse pointer in the same direction. The picture is an example of the bottom of a mechanical mouse with the ball removed.

The ball mouse has two freely rotating rollers. These are located 90 degrees apart. One roller detects the forward–backward motion of the mouse and other the left–right motion. Opposite the two rollers is a third one that is spring-loaded to push the ball against the other two rollers.Today, this mouse has been replaced by the optical mouse.

  6.  Blue Track mouse

In a BlueTrack technology mouse, the sensor, the light and the component configuration are optimized for the best possible results. This mouse uses a Microsoft-designed technology that complements CMOS chip with advanced algorithms and pixel architecture for more precise tracking.

BlueTrack technology is developed by the Microsoft company. Microsoft’s BlueTrack mouse are designed to work on any surface except glass or mirrors. The technology also uses a wider than normal blue laser, which is less sensitive to dust and stray particles. Various models of blue track mouse are: sculpt comfort mouse, Microscope mouse 4500, Sculpt touch mouse, etc.

  7.  Laser mouse

A Laser mouse is a type of optical mouse that uses laser light to detect mouse movement. This mouse has no moving parts inside. This mouse is better than optical mouse because laser is more accurate than LED light. It provides upto 20x greater sensitivity and precision than optical mouse.

The improved sensitivity and precision of this mouse provides a better track for gaming applications and graphical or engineering design applications. Those who require pinpoint accuracy for graphics in Photoshop or sniping in an FPS game this will be the best choice for them.
